Akplas’s Agricultural Production Heritage and the Road to IPS

Established in 1989 as a family company with four partners under the title of “Ilgın Akın Oto Kalorifer ve Oto Yedek Parça İmalat Sanayi ve Ticaret Limited Şirketi”, our company operated in the early years in the sector of automotive heater production.

With the corporate transformation in 1994, the company title was changed to Akplas Ilgın Akın Plastik San. ve Tic. A.Ş. and production began for high-density polyethylene (HDPE) sprinkler irrigation spare parts with a capacity of 100 tons/year.

1995 marked the beginning of a new era for our company; agricultural sprinkler irrigation pipes were also added to the product portfolio. This manufacturing power, which started at 100 tons/year, gained a strong momentum in 2004 by reaching a production level of 40 tons/day.

Today, with our dealer network of more than 70 dealers across Türkiye, Akplas continues to provide continuous product and service support to our farmers nationwide. In particular, supplying 80% of PANKO Birlik cooperatives’ irrigation pipes and spare parts demand has made our company a trusted reference brand in the industry.

With the belief that technological infrastructure and product quality are directly proportional, we continuously renew and improve our machinery park, production technologies, and expert teams with the goal of sustainable development.

Our irrigation systems, developed with critical criteria such as ergonomics, impact resistance, pressure resistance, and break durability, deliver easy-to-apply and long-lasting solutions.

In this direction, Akplas continues to develop user-friendly and economical irrigation products tailored to the needs of our farmers’ fields through an R&D-based production model.

Growth in Manufacturing Capacity and New Factory Investment

Our company;

• 4,000 m² indoor area, 16,500 m² outdoor area,

• 14 injection and 12 extrusion machines,

• Employment for more than 150 personnel

has contributed strongly to the industry.

In 2007, two important changes were made during our rapid growth and institutionalization process:

• On June 14, 2007, the company title was updated to “Akplas Plastik San. Tic. A.Ş.”,

• On November 6, 2007, following the company type (status) change, the title became “Akplas Plastik San. Tic. A.Ş.” and production continued under this title.

2019 is another major milestone in our production history:

As of 02.01.2019;

• With a capacity of 12,200 m² indoor area, 76,800 m² total production area,

• 18 extruders, 23 injection machines,

• and employment for 150 personnel

production officially started in our new factory located opposite Konya / Ilgın Zaferiye Neighborhood.

Akplas’s Agricultural Irrigation Brand: IPS Irrigation Systems

All this agricultural production heritage and engineering strength have been transferred to the IPS Irrigation Systems (IPS Irrigation) brand, developed by Akplas with a focus on efficiency in the field.

IPS Irrigation is Akplas’s exclusive brand fully focused on the agricultural irrigation sector, and all irrigation pipes, sprinkler irrigation systems, and HDPE irrigation spare parts continue to reach our farmers under this brand.

The mission of IPS; is to produce solutions that reduce resource consumption, increase durability standards, and manage field water with the highest possible efficiency. With this brand, our goal is to deliver Akplas’s field reliability and production power to our farmers as more effective, economical, and smarter irrigation systems.
